ADULT WORKSHOP SERIES

Ready to make, build, and experiment?

Our Adult Maker Workshop Series is a chance to explore the creative side of technology, science, and craftsmanship through a lineup of fun, hands-on workshops. From 3D printing and robotics to jewelry and print making, each class invites you to learn something new, try something unexpected, and leave with skills (and a project!) you can take home.

No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

Classes will meet 7-9pm on Thursdays, 9/24 - 10/29

The Classes Week By Week

Week 1 | Sept 24
3D Printing

Ready to turn your ideas into reality? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the basics of 3D modeling, discover how 3D printers work, and learn how to transform digital designs into real-world objects. You’ll get hands-on practice preparing files, choosing essential print settings, and sending your designs to the printer. No previous experience necessary—just bring your ideas and curiosity!

Week 2 | Oct 1
Jewelry Making

Turn your ideas into something you can wear! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of jewelry making, including essential tools, materials, and techniques for transforming simple components into unique pieces. You’ll also experiment with 3D printing and electroplating to create, customize, and finish your own designs. Whether you’re new to jewelry making or looking to expand your creative skills, this workshop offers a fun introduction to taking a piece of jewelry from concept to finished product.

Week 3 | Oct 8
Robotics

What makes a robot sense, think, and move? In this engaging, hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the essential components of robotics and discover how different systems work together. Learn how robots sense their surroundings, process information, and move, then put your knowledge into practice by programming a simple robotic system. No prior robotics experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!

Week 4 | Oct 15
Print Making

Carve it, ink it, print it! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of block printing and learn basic relief printmaking techniques, including transferring a design, carving a printing block, and applying ink to create clean, repeatable impressions. Experiment with composition, pattern, and layering before putting your skills into practice by printing your own custom tote bag. No previous printmaking experience necessary!

Week 5 | Oct 22
Mold Making/Casting

Make one, then make it again! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of mold making and casting while experimenting with different materials, forms, and techniques. Learn how to prepare an original form, build a mold, and cast multiple objects from a single design. You’ll gain practical skills for turning an original idea into a repeatable object—and maybe discover a whole new way to make things.

Week 6 | Oct 29
Experiments & Explosions!

End the series with a bang! In this high-energy workshop, you’ll explore the science behind combustion, pressure, energy, and rapid chemical reactions through bold demonstrations and hands-on experiments. See what happens when chemistry gets intense and discover the science behind some seriously exciting reactions. Expect surprising results, plenty of controlled chaos, and a memorable finale to the series!
